What this template includes

  • A ten-point rating scale

One number per person at the end of every meeting, captured in under a minute.

  • Fixed criteria

The same checklist every week — started on time, everyone prepared, decisions made, actions assigned — so the scores are comparable.

  • Trend tracking

Thirteen weeks of scores, because a single low rating is a bad week and a declining line is a broken meeting.

  • An improvement log

Space to record the one change being made for next week, so the rating leads somewhere.

How to use it

  1. 1Rate the meeting in the last two minutes, every week, before anyone leaves.
  2. 2Have every attendee give a number rather than only the person running it.
  3. 3Write down one specific change for next week whenever the average drops below 8.
  4. 4Review the trend monthly, not the individual scores.
  5. 5Retire criteria that always score 10 and replace them with something that still has room.

Common questions

Why rate leadership meetings?

Because meeting quality drifts slowly and nobody notices. A one-minute rating at the end of each meeting turns a vague sense that the meeting has become a status round into a trend line somebody has to explain.

What is a good meeting rating?

Most teams target an average of 8 or above out of 10. The absolute number matters less than the direction: a steady 7 that used to be a 9 says more than a single 6.

Does this work for any meeting?

It is built for a recurring leadership meeting where the same people attend on a set rhythm, which is what makes the scores comparable week to week. It works less well for one-off meetings.
